Hi.
Does anyone know whether the Z1000 R2 (1984) Elr head is the same as the Z1000J? If they are I will keep my eyes out for one as one of the inlet rubber mounts? (where you bolt the carb inlet rubber to) on my bike is knackered. The Z1000R2 is based pretty much on the Z1000J so I hope yes.
Cheers

Yup, is the same. If the bolt has sheared off in the hole, check your local yellow pages for a company that does wire-eroding, it's an easy job for them and next time, use some copper compound, so the screw won't weld itself into the ally and you should be set!

There's no replacement for displacement!
Thanks for the replies.
A photo is difficult as it is all currently all together. I did a temporary 'plastic metal' job on it to get it on the road.
The issue is a combination of stripped threads and parts of the alloy sides on two of the inlets have broken off near the threaded hole, I still have all of the broken bits. By the tone of some of the replies it might be salvageable? ie welded?
I did not think this was an option as it is an alloy.
