Are Z1100ST cases the same as Z1000J cases ?

#1 PostAuthor: nanno » Thu Jul 26, 2012 2:41 pm

I.e. could mount all my Z1000J bits into an empty Z1100ST case and convert it to chaindrive along the way with the pieces from my Z1000J ?

On my Z1000J engine two bearings have spun in their seats and the cases are showing the signs of about 100.000kms and a lot of neglect/abuse from the pre-owners.

Cheers,
Greg

cases are the same as a Z 1000 csr which is a chain drive machine u will need to replace the output shaft + relace the front bevel housing for the transmission cover that is fitted to the chain drive model

Ok, thx for the info. As I wrote in my first post, I have a complete Z1000J engine, but the cases are a bit tired and a friend has some leftovers from his Z1100ST, so if it is just a case of swapping bits from one engine to the other...
