solonoid problem .....again
Ok fitted a 2nd hand one on saturday, which worked for about 4 goes then the same problem again nothing from the button, tester gives me 12v on both the soldered terninals when i push the start button on my switch?? could it be the fact that i fitted a 2nd hand one seems very strange that i now have 2 not working. i can short across the 2 big nuts with a large screw driver and bingo she starts no problem.
I could do with some help or do i just buy another solonoid , but a new one this time?? or just wonder round with a big screw driver lol.

if you disconnect the black wire to the solenoid + attach a wire direct from the battery to the black wire to the solenoid it should turn the engine over. if it doesn't the solenoid is at fault. it is very rare for a solenoid to give up. they mainly give up when they have been exposed to damp or water penetration
