Im planning to change my head [bikes head] as some fines are broken and ive got a spare.
CAN THIS BE DONE WITHOUT REMOVING CAM CHAIN

No probs there just remove cams and idler wheel,dont mix up shells keep them in their numbered housings and hang chain to the frame with wire..

Zman, I would only add....
Make sure you don't let the two dowels drop out when you remove the head... And make sure you put them back in the other head.
Also, be sure the two X two sprockets rubbers on top of the head aren't dislodged as those little rubbers have a habit of falling into the sump
I would probably release the tensioner and re-tension after change-over.
