Hi,
going to bore my z11r out to 1170,
1st question, what carbs work best?
2nd question, where's the best place to get the piston's from?
many thanks.

Best carbs, for availability, tuning & cost are probably Mikuni RS36 or 38, with large conical K&N's  try eBay
Jeff at Zenterprises (see links page) is ace, and US dollar exchange rate is very good at moment :D
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Hi Yox,my 1170's run Mikuni RS36mm flatslides and this appears to be the optium size carb for the 1170 bore.
A cheaper alternative would be a set of slabside GSXR flatslides with the bored out inner to take them out to 33mm.
For the Wiseco kit either Jeff Saunders at Z1 Enterprises in the U.S.A. there is a link to Jeff in the links section.
For the best U.K. prices speak to GREMLIN @ Gremlin Racetech

My last Wiseco kit came with a 2 piece Cometic head gasket but it was only 74mm diameter. You're best off with a 1 piece copper Cometic head gasket anyways. The Cometic website will list the part number you need.
Make sure the Wiseco kit is for the 18mm pins as per GPz uni-trak a.k.a. ZX1100 and not the J type with 17mm pins.
When you get your block bored it will require several passes as you're going from 72.5mm upto 75mm.
:D :D
