the mushroom type insert from underneath the seat won,t release with the lever on the left hand side. i,ve tried to release the hinges on the other side but with no joy.

my seat is jammed closed.

if you remove the r/h side panel see if you can see the back of the seat catch. the lever is secured by a 6mm nut if you can get to the nut the lever should come of + the seat should lift up. also have you tried giving the seat a good bang from the side whilst holding down the lever. you might need two people to do this. one to hold down the lever + one to bang the seat + apply some lifting pressure from the seat base
