Z650 bits n' bobs

#1 PostAuthor: Buckle » Wed Sep 09, 2009 11:37 am

Now the 650 is alive I am after a few bits to progress the project!

Can anyone help with:

1. The mounting rubbers for tail piece?

2. Air box mounts? (The little metal L shaped brackets that slide into the air box)

3. A short chrome front mudguard? (CSR / LTD type?)

4. Some rearsets  (drum brake)

That's pretty much in order of importance

Thanks in advance :D

rubbers for tailpiece

#2 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Wed Sep 09, 2009 12:17 pm

TRY Z-POWER THEY DO A PATTERN KIT FOR THE RUBBERS YOU NEED

Mudgaurds etc are more plentiful on american ebay www.ebay.com,

and any short z1000/900 one will fit.

Cheers
Phil

Zpower for your airbox brackets, cheap, or get some ally plate and make your own, (exactly what I was going to do until I found out how cheap they are).

Rearsets, m&p www.mandp.com

£135 ish?
Very cheap in the world of rearsets certainly, so cheap i considered cafe racering mine and i'm a tight git :)

Here you go, had a search for them, aren't I nice eh?

£129, absolute bargain, I know people who've paid anywhere between £300 and £500 for standard rearsets and more for fancy adjustable ones.

The raask ones are a bit clunky.
Try discovolante for Tarozzi ones which are much nicer.
Someon on here was selling some for a z900 drum brake model yesterday, if yours is drum they may fit.

I would go for the RAASks as they fold up for 30 quid less and you can get parts for any bits that wear out or get damaged.
If you have ever owned any italien cars or bikes , parts supply is not a speciality or priority.......

Thanks for all the suggestions chaps! :D

Air box brackets and tail piece mounts sorted - Z Power.

Am watching several short mudguards on US E-bay - wait and see!

Rear sets - Mmmmm. Like the look of the Tarozzi ones (and I had them on a Z1000) but as said Raask have the back up. Not that I had any probs with the Tarozzi ones. Jury is out on that one at the mo'.

Next wee bit is the little "S" shaped breather tube that goes under the airbox - apparently no longer available unless you know different? :(
