Winter refresh of my Z1B-please dont tell the mrs

Why do my little secret projects always grow into expensive ones?
The idea was to “tart upâ€￾ refresh my Z1B that Ive owned for 5 years but its run away with me again
Heres so Far I think the bill is about 3k don’t tell the wife shes after a new bathroom!!!!

New Genuine 4/4 pipes
Nos speedo
Nos taco
NOS Foot rests
chain and sprockets
Nos seat
Brake lines and fittings
Gold seal tyres
New rims/spokes
Hubs polished
Nos nuts bolts and lots of zinc and chrome plating to rest
Powder coating calliper & front hub
Wheeled it out of garage today as its fine back end done and now for the front end.

Traveled to germany a couple of years ago to get Heinz Loblein to paint it, he,s the paint guru you may have seen in the DVD "Z1 The movie"
here I am collecting my paintwork, dont drop it heinz!! hes not cheap but its the best Ive seen always 100% spot on. I have since heard that Hutchy is good but ive not seen his work

were do you get NOS seats from?

and how much do they cost? am i right in thinking i may have seen some about the £400 mark?

genuine seats are still available from kawasaki, so pop into your local dealer and strike a deal, I usaully manage to get 20 - 30% if i charm them.
The price you mention seems to be about the rrp. before haggling

Mick. Knowing Graham, as I don`t :lol: he would only use NOS at extreme cost !

This man did what we all wish we had done and actually owned Zeds when they were current models.

sorry mick didnt mean to ignore you, new replica english rims used from cwc as dogsbollox beat me to some nos Tagos on ebay. And Bunny no not images on the chrome disc its me fat face mate.
Busy day hiding in gagage today, front end off and trip to the platers and powder coaters tomorrow.

slight spelling mistake there MrB - I think that should be spelled 'paint sprayers'

keep in mind it's a classic motorcycle, not a shopping trolley :wink:
