Mini Project, z1000 refresh!

I decided to slap some of the bits I had liying around on the old z1000 for use this year!
The pics are not that good as it was last night when I finished it!
(so too much refelction of the flash!)

Swing arm changed for JMC deep brace, I thought this would bolt straight in but it involved modifying the rear brake lever as it would catch
on the arm and adjusting the 4 into 1 bracket to miss the swing arm.
Why is it aftermarket stuff never fits properly!!?

Wheels :- Fitted a set of lester wheels, the front is a six hole one and required new spacers making to get the spacing right!
Then I had to ditch the long mudguard as the
different profile of the wheel splayed the tyre and caught the mudgaurd.

Mudgaurd shorty US style one fitted.

Shocks ZRX piggy back 11 ones.

Seat the trust 2:4.

The bikes not immaculate but is useable and will do me for this year
and will get a full refurb next winter.
But it now looks like a proper 70's modded zed.
(Just need that big engine and 33's fitting  )

Hi Kwakerz1,

That might look fantastic, (if we could see it properly),

Can we have some better pics - looks nice

Cheers

now that's a proper Zed
forget these upside down fork's and truck like wheels
Zeds went just as quick on sensible mods without chopping the beejasus out of them

Phil,
This is not the one I raced, this one I have had from 1985, and up until last week it was standard apart frome the Harris and it had Mick Grant Mags in it.
Just thought I would swap things around for a bit, and try the look and feel of the lesters and the Jmc.

Should be on the road at the start of feb :)
