Thanks to all those who advised on my Harris what's it worth thread, I totally ignored all the advice and ended up with it anyway. Actually swapped it of a ZRX so may have lost a bit but ended up with something interesting and different.
Here's my starting point the plan is to throw it together as is and see what its like next summer.
It needs a new shock though so if anyone has a 280mm center to centre 60 mm strock shock kicking about let me know.

Spec: Lester mags, 33mm smoothies, 1074cc (we think from receipts as the guy did not know), piranha ignition (which i will sell)

I think I might keep the 70's look paint although its a bit damaged its defintely Period.

Maybe I'll get this project finished alonsgide the other(s)

If I live long enough that is!!!!!

As first seen.

Thanks guys we must all be getting old

Everyone says keep the paint and I am tempted to and probably will, for a while, glitter paint is not really my scene!
Well not since I stopped the recreational pharmacuticals

Anyway latest update.

Since seeing the bike I was concerned about the angle of the front forks,
They looked to long, or the shock looks short, as the attitude of the bike was wrong.

Lester Harris confirmed the shock length is ok, so I had another look at the front.

The original harris yoke was in the box of bits, so I took out the fitted yokes and found that the ones fitted have more offset, (than the harris one)

Can someone tell me what they are off, as I compared them to z650 ones and they are more offset than 650s, they are also not the same as z1000a1 as the casting marks are different

I suspect they may be 900 ones as they are 36mm, (the harris top yoke is actually 38 mm)
If you look at the pics the silver yoke is the one off the harris and the black one is a 650 one and you can see the difference in the offset.

So two questions
1. what are they off?

and secondly which zeds had 38mm forks, I know GPZ11B1 Had them, what about MK2'S and J'S?

Answers on a postcard please!!!

In the meantime,more pics

Agreed Kwakanut. Mighty fine ride !

Harris`s aren`t really my thing, but somehow the paint just makes it soooooooooooooooooo special :)

1000J,1000 LTD (K) and Lawsons have 38m forks.
The ST has 40mm forks me thinks.
