Hi guys

Here is my A2 that I bought the other week.

Initially I had decided not to keep it, but I now think I will.

It's not the pretty'est thing you have ever seen at the moment, but with a decent paint job, a decent seat and a bloody good clean it won't be too bad. Mechanically the bike seems fine.

I bought a badge and decal set for it today so its ready to go to the painters, and I now a bloke locally who does a great job with moding seats, so it should look quite respectable within a few weeks.

Worst thing is the pattern side panels.....anyone got a good pair of panels with the 3 lugs on ?

Condition not really an issue (unless they are red) cos they are going straight to the paint shop.

Looks like a good project keep the pics coming.
How much did you pay for it cos it looks in better nick than my A2 when i bought mine :?:

I paid the princely sum of £1120 for it.

BUT.....it will probably owe me more like £2000 when it is sorted, and even then it won't be a minter !

Should be respectable at that point though, and I will enjoy riding it.

Done a bit....added some more pics.

The bike doesn't really look that much diiferent from the last pics, but have removed a few bits, got some decent side panels (thanks Jerry) and fitted some bar end indicators (not every ones cup of tea I am sure, but I like 'em).

Have fitted a Dyna S ignition (thanks Piggy) and sorted the carbs out (thanks Steve at Debbens and Lee at Moore Speed Racing).

Bike runs nice now and is ready for paint, I got tank and panel badges and an A2 stripe set in silver (bit different from the standard gold)

Probably going to paint it bright red...but metallic.

Seat is going to be re-stuffed....not sure what yet but probably leave the front and shrink the rear to blend in with the tail piece.

Last job for now...the mother of all cleans !

Thanks Piggy

If you think it looks that nice.....maybe I should just leave it as it is...

a mix of sort of camoflage shite green and battle ship greyish black.

Go for the 'undercover' look.

Undertones......Teenage Kicks, always a favorite !

Nick

Any good paint shop should be able to do a bright red metallic

Who were you thinking of going to, to get the paint work done :?:

Yeh, I guess they will just mix it.

I was trying to think of a car/bike that was met bright red from the factory....I couldn't.

I have been in the car trade for a long time so I am getting one of our body shops to do it.

Its a pretty straight forward single colour paint job so they won't have any problems with that.

Much cheaper than your specialist bike painters.

2:4 seat would look good on it. Think they suit much better without std grab rail and indicators. :D :D
