Whilst the clocks are away I need to play but for which side? My bike started life in the US and somewhere along the way somebody has started the conversion to uk spec,i'm not going for for a full blown resto but want to bring it to one or the other specs. What do you think i should go for? John Bull or back to Uncle Sam?[img][/img][img][/img]

Hmmmmm, as it is a USA import, logic says its best to keep it as mr Kawasaki intended :?:
But, as you reside in the godd old United kingdom, it'd be nice to had a UK spec bike...
Toss a coin...

A UK bike if not modded should be Uk spec. a US bike if not modded should be US spec. in my opinion. I will always be me whatever clothes I put on.
Great looking bike you've got there. :up

PS. I would be interested if you or anybody else can shed some light on that rear guard reflector as my A4 had the same one which has now been changed to the longer chrome type.

The Z1 models should not have a reflector on the rear guard only the A4 model of the 900s.

The seat, rear shocks and rear guard are already UK types.

If you want to go a bit further change the reflectors on the front forks for a pair of shiny steel discs (someone will show some pics), the handlebar grips aint Kwak ones either I don't think and the chain guard should be plastic. :D :D

Wish my B looked as good as that

Go for the US look..... :D
Ditch the rear mudguard for a short US one & like D.J. says put in the stainless blank disc's on the fork legs....
By the way keep the shiny chain guard... :D

Why am I such an idiot??? it looked great before I started taking stuff off to clean but underneath tells a different tale and now the engine is on the bench,i've got a box full of stuff for rechroming, another one for painting so may as well get the frame done.Oh yeh, cheers for reminding me about the carbs suppose i'd better try to find the correct ones now.
No more Z rides for me this year  [img][/img]

I know just what you mean. :( a month or so ago i was sat looking at me z1a and thought the frame looked a bit tatty so with not much else to do that day it was in lots of little bits within 2 hrs, so again i have just bought $1000 worth of bits fron jeff at http://www.z1enterprises.com/?source=google
thought i might give redditch shot blasting a go. They can blast the engine without it being stripped.

I like the U.S. spec back mudguard as they are shorter. The reflector is incorporated into the rear light lens.

I know maybe i should've left alone but the underside of the rearguard is very rusty, the shocks look good in the photo's but close up not so good, battery box is a bit ropey, and best of all check out these electrics.[img]
Gonna have a stab at the electrics myself  [/img]
