i was just wondering if the club had already done something like this before.how about building a complete z1 900 from parts donated from members ,painted up with the z1 owners club badge.and when finished, either rafold off to the genarel public and funds raised donated to a charity of the clubs choice,or open to other suggestions.

would do the club no harm, more members, etc etc etc.

Excellent idea, i nominate Jerry, our club prez. to build it, as he always has a a lot of spare time.

I cannot see to many donations, towards this idea.
I offer a set off z900 crank cases and a set of barrels with pistons.
Also a cylinder head, a set of new Dunlop tyres.
ANY MORE WANT TO ADD TO THE LIST.
We could have the bike assembled at Stafford, and sold on Sunday afternoon.
We could also have an internet vote, for which charity we choose.
So allowing all members world wide, to have an imput.
I will contact Jerry and see what his views are.

I'd like to donate my Z1b to the project as the basis for the restoration.
Stuff the raffle though. I want it back when you have finished it.

Big John, the words cheap and ZED just don't go together
As for building a bike from bits alone, from my own experience I'd say it's better to start with a complete bike and sort thingz out from there.
Also using a later J or Gpz model may help from a parts sourcing aspect
Don't have any Z900/1000 bitz to donate, but I'm sure Piggy the Ponce will find a few thingz under his ironing board/work bench to make up for me
I'd also like to donate Pasc's Z1B,but on a non-return basis
