This is my Z1000 A2, which have owned since 1987. Has been sat in my garage for last 8 years. Needed a total rebuild. Almost there. Just need to re wire. Fit refurbished rear master cylinder. Tank and side panel badges.

Does anyone out there know where I can lay my hands on a new wiring loom ? I know Z-POWER do a wiring loom, with switch gear and ignition switch for ?185.00 ish.

Hoping to get bike on road real soon.

I will try and repost the pictures. Oh I do hate computers. Which is bizarre as I work on them all day.

Hopefully this will work.

Oh in Classic Bike mag this month there is a couple of articles about Z1R.

Cheers.

Welcome to the club.

I couldn't bring myself to part with ?185 either, but to be honest after having made my own it didn't save me a massive amount and it was hard work. The satisfaction of having it all work is immeasurable though.

You will be able to get all the parts you need from http://wwww.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/homepage/home.html
They are very helpful and pretty quick to despatch.

In photobucket if you click on the links bit in the list under the thumbnails that will copy the image and bb code -

If you then stick yer cursor in the messahe and give some Ctrl V it will paste in the link and code.

To check it's worked OK click preview below the message.

Hope this helps

Thanks to VDUK for wiring info. and must say his bike looks stunning.

I got carried away a bit and I have spent too much money on this bike, labour of love.
The seat is the first thing that will be replaced.
The second will be a new 4 into 2 Ze Cross exhaust from Z1 Enterprises

Nice usable Z1000 mate. Always thought fitting flatter bars offered a big improvement in the zed handling. Swap the seat for the better looking standard one but I'd keep it and refit for long distance touring/hols and you'll keep the missus happy :D .
