Well, here is my little project, started around 1 of January these year.
I just jump right to the pictures!

Image
These is from the wet garage the bike has been parked in for the last 17 years. Scandal:!:

As you can see, these bike needs a total rebuild, and its taken down to thousand parts now, the frame is going for sandblast and powdercoating.

But the time and money is used on Z1000J, because the ELR is the baby for me, so first the 1000J, and then I really gone enjoy my self with the ELR.
Image
Its bad quality on the first of these pictures, taken with a cellphone. But anyway, these bike have a Gpz1100 82-83 M engine. Been stored in a dry garage for 13 years or something.

The frame was powder coated just before the preview owner parked it, but everything else is under subject for renewal.

I will continue the pictures tomorrow. :P

Thank you boys!!!
Really warms my heart, because I know that I'm not alone with my madness

I bought some goodies, but the only thing I know for sure is that I will use the Hayabusa forks, and only maybe the swing, I also have one Katana 1100 boxed alu swing.

Oki, enough talk!!! I will put out some more pictures :P

Image
Hayabusa forks, complete with everything except the fender.

Image
Katana 1100 swing.

Image
I really want to bolt the Hayabusa swing on as well, some welding is needed for the double shocks mount.

Image
Hmmmm...

Image

Image

Image
Its not fitted proper on, but maybe...Hmm

Image
Also need to swap the stem from Kawa to Hayabusa triple tree.

Image
Bought some used 36mm Mikuni RS with KN pods from another mad Norwegian which planned to put turbo on his GSXR1100...

Image
Some cheap Xenon light kit on Ebay, bought HERE

Image

Image
Double shocks made in China, I don't know nothing about the quality, but they seems OK for the price. Bought HERE

Image

Image
Some goodies from Z1 Enterprises.

Image

Lots of stuff, but when the dollar price is that low as is it now, its no way not to shop...feels me a little like a shopaholic woman

OK; from the buying sequence over to real work, that's what matters in the end.

Image
The plan was not to do anything with the 1100 engine on the J, but I was not satisfied with the engine paint, and that's a common issue I think.
And beside that I don't think the valvesprings is in any good shape been compressed so long without running the engine.

Image
So the only option is to tear it down.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image
Put some Gaffa tape on.

Image
And straight to the blasting cabinet :D

Image
I got erection...Hey, I'm only singing on a Turbonegro song!

Image

Image
Same shit, same wrapping.

Image

Image
Singing a Turbonegro song again...

Image
A little old damage, and after looking around...

Image
I found this, capable to 300 degrees C, to put in where its damaged.

Image
Last picture for today, the engine half's is also been blasted and painted. Not finished with them yet.

Oki, tomorrow I will show you the painted engine parts, hope you guys will like the colour that much I like it.

Take care on a Saturday night please
