whats been keeping me busy

I know these are nowhere near the standard of some of the bikes shown on here (I don't have the patience or attention to detail !) but these 2 have kept me busy over the winter.

The Z900 hadn't run in 10 years but now runs ok (ish). Checked the carb balance today and they're WAY out - still a bit to do then. Also needs a new from brake light switch and a longer clutch cable (thanks Mark). Next is MOT and then off to the DVLA for a reg - its a 1977 A5 by the way. Yes I know the paintwork is not standard......

The Z1R was silver blue when I got it but I like the black - paintwork by Hutchy. The recovered seat lets it down so thats got to go - more expense. Will be on one of these at the Ace hopefully - if not then it'll have to be the purple peril...................

Nowt wrong with those Chris. Been a busy winter.
Not sure about the pinstriping on the top of the 9 tank though. Other than that, well done.

I know - the paint is actually around 12 years old but 'serviceable' as they say. It needs a full respray really but getting it up and running was the priority.

Both look good enough to me Chris a job well done.

Only comment is on the Z1R front mudguard, it seems very close to the tyre watch for expansion when you ride the bike could end up rubbing.

Z1R looks good in black, the Z900 looks good with the Harris pipe they so suit the Zeds.

They both look absolutely great. Congratulations. I think the Z1R looks a million times better than the standard blue!

Nice restos Chris, both looking good without going ott. I think if you spend too much restoring you don't get the same usage out of them. :D :D
