ST Reincarnation

Many will be familiar with my ST because it raised an eyebrow or two when owned by ex member Aztec Warrior, (a true gentleman and a thoroughly decent chap to deal with).
I've posted a couple of pics of how it looked when i took it to a local NCC meet in the late summer of 2015. By this time the infamous offensive mask was no more.
Paint aside, the bike has lot's of history and receipts for an engine rebuild at 1105cc, powdercoated frame and swingarm, Hagon shocks and so on. Essentially it's a very clean ST that goes well but needs some cosmetic changes.
I will get more pics as I go but time is limited at the moment so bear with.
So far I have managed to obtain a different set of bodywork, paint the wheels, have new Roadriders fitted, have the forks straightened (bend is visible in first pic) and rebuilt, and gradually paint the gold bits black. I am trying to do most jobs myself and keep a low budget. Still to do is paint the front calipers, forks, yokes and then look at a slow spinning starter, drop the rear end and hopefully not much else. Here are the before pics and how the badges turned out (with some Revell model paint from Hobbycraft);

Managed to take a few pics as it stands, bit dark though.
Bevel and rear wheel painted;

Bike minus front end, still to be painted;

Side panels aren't to dissimilar in the pics but need painting to match ideally.

Were the forks bent when you got it, I didn't notice when Alan brought it over to my place not long after he got it.

Hi Kev, yeah they must have been. I didn't notice either until I took them off to be painted and it was really obvious then. Odd but it didn't seem to effect the handling. Still, got them straightened no problem. The bend suggested a front end bump into something that didn't have much give in it!
The scuffs pointed out by Alan were those he was aware of from when he dropped it, which I am sure was at slow speed, if not static.

Mick, yeah I suppose it is an 1100ST now.

That was it. And at some traffic lights I believe when he put his foot down on uneven ground. Then struggled with it while the car drivers drove round him. :roll:

Sorry for the poor quality pics, they don't do the bike justice, but a mobile phone is my only option for pics at the mo. Anyway, got the painted yokes back on, decided to leave the forks gold for now, I think they look ok with the black wheels. Put superbike bars on too. Nice to have it back on its wheels so outside it went for a better look in the daylight. Still a way to go but I am aiming for completion before the Ace Café meet in April. Fingers crossed!
