Thanks for the welcome guys.
This will be a gentle recommissioning rather than a restoration. I prefer orignal bikes over restored ones.
So the paint will be left as-is (bar a little paint correction) and I have the original takasago back wheel so that will go back on in place of the 16" harley rear wheel.
The bike was purchased from the original us owner who had the 'chopper' mods done from new (slash cut pipes, extended forks). The 16" rim was added later.
I've just cleaned the carbs as they were badly varnished from years of stale fuel.
New fork stanchions will be going on, once I've located a fork damper piston ring.
New carb kits, manifolds, new oil & filter, new tyres, brake hoses etc.. Oh and some new 4-4 Doremi exhausts when I can afford it next month..
Other than that will remain un messed with.
Will keep you posted on progress.
