Just picked up a GPZ1100 uni project. its just a frame, half an engine, tank and seat, so a blank canvas. Looking for advice for front / rear ends that will plug in without too much hassle. Going to be a slow burner, so will post pics eventually.

As mentioned its got half and engine, does anyone have a unitrack head for sale, as complete as possible. I would consider one that needs work.

Good luck with the head. They rare and when they do come up they tend to be fooked. Cost me more to get the head I bought off eBay put right than I paid for the bike! If you do find one make sure it has matching cam caps. Mine did not so had to have it line bored. Threads are made of cheese as well.

In the past I have bought a really beaten up GPz that's riddled with rust etc but running just to get the engine. That's why there are a lot of Unitrak frames with V5 appearing on eBay.

ZZR1100 front and rear ends are a relatively easy fit and I had that on my old GPz. My current one has an FZR Yamaha front end which is same diameter forks but more modern. Rear end is TZR Yamaha with Fox Racing shock. Standard front wheel but with discs spaced to accept AP calipers. Rear has 750 Turbo wheel to allow for 18 inch tyres. It was built by Gus and James Clark as a race bike so conforms to CRMC spec but I use it for road and track days. I love it!

As Martin said heads are getting hard to come by but I 've waited ages for certain parts to come up and they do eventually of course. Good luck with the project, it will be loads of fun when you get there.Mine has a ZZR 1100 rear end and ZX6R F front end. Are you the same FOZ that drank in the Hautbouy 25 years ago. Cheers Nick.

Here's a couple of pics of mine, ZZR stuff and similar can be had relatively cheaply still.
