Kipkawa project update

#1 PostAuthor: Padders » Mon Aug 26, 2013 3:08 pm

Managed to get some time on the Kipkawa project these last few days. A big thank you to Rick and Ted for popping round and helping to lift the engine in. It was a VERY tight fit due in part to new engine mounting rubbers plus fresh powdercoat on the frame. It was only after the engine was lifting in we noticed the rear engine mount had been opened out to 13.5mm so the rear mounts on the engine had to be reamed out to suit. I decided to go for a full MOT rather than daylight one and have fitted a detachable front headlight. Easy enough to take off for track days. Tried a dry fit of the new kerker that came with the bike but the rear would have required extensive work to follow the correct lines and rear mount so I decided to sell it and have an exhaust made for the bike. Head says stainless, heart says titanium at least thats my Xmas prezzie sorted.

More updates once I have fitted the wiring and have something to show.

Cheers

OK, I've moved it. Just let me know when to move it to the 'for sale' section, but don't forget it'll need a price.

Had a photo e mailed to me from Dave at Exhaust Craft to agree the positioning of the rear silencer. Will be collecting the bike on sat, spoke to Dave tonight and the front down pipes are now fitted.

Feel like a kid waiting for Xmas.
