The route of that lining pattern coming from the rear to the front on that 73 tank looks spot on to me.....very good.

thanks Steve, I've got 2 original tanks and made templates to get it exact. looked everywhere to get the right line tape and found a guy producing it in the US for vintage yamaha's. Also tried loads of different flakes but they were all too big but found this lot which is spot on, again in the US.
The yellow and green one in the pic is rubbed down so looks matt, but I got a bit carried away with the flake on that one and it came out too light because of it, so will do it again.
Got to flat them off a bit but pretty pleased with it all. Just got to build the rest of the bikes now :??

Very nice!..you do know that the stripe and kawasaki font was not clear coated from the factory on a '69 H1?

the step was too big so put some over it, the second one is for my better bike so I won't put so much white on next time  It's all a learning curve, but I'd rather have the enjoyment of doing it myself.

Great work, like the fact that the H1 tank was all paint no stickers.
The Jaffa looks incredibly vibrant (I know it's fresh paint, but still)
Well done :up

the colour the phone has made it is not a good representation, but it's exactly the same as my 2 stock tanks - the modern 2k clear is way too shiny though, but that will look right when I've cut it back.

kas, I don't agree, and I think that is a misconception because everyone thinks, white background first, then stencil blue over it. I know that going against all the stencil sellers out there, but I had an original 69 paint set and as you say, you could still feel the two layers of paint, but it was the blue that was on the bottom - not the white, so that's how I did it.

here is a picture of it and you can see where the white has flaked off and the blue is underneath.

I'm not too fussy, I like it vibrant as it appears in the photo there !!
