my suzuki is nearly done now so not one to be taking things easy i made a purchase off that auction site.....
listed was a gpz750 turbo engine so i hit the buy it now and when i turned up to collect the motor a few more bits from the chaps' garage caught my eye.
so heres what came home; one turbo motor, a good original turbo unit and a kz750 frame complete with the turbo wiring loom still attached.

trying a few things out makes it easier to move the parts around and gives a rough look of how things are going to pan out, the forks will be replaced by 41mm gpx items with the wheel directly under the fork leg......the z1r tank fits the seat like it was mean to be there, i'll just need to fabricate the front mounting lugs for the frame.

yes I originally owned Wills bike which I bought of Pasc another Club Member and Will was looking for a project so I sold it to Him

it does seem i'm gathering quite alot of pascs' old stuff :wink:

anyway, back on with this bike again iv'e decided to do a full dry build as the engine in it is untried so first off is to get the thing fired up!

dropped the frame over the engine this weekend which is a tight squeeze with the extra deep turbo sump. fitted oil cooler and some gpz1100a throttle bodies.
the T.B.s on the 1100 fit the same up to the engine but have a larger intake size so i'll need to source some z1000j inlet rubbers to replace the plenum box rubbers. also on the shopping list is a set of vauxhall calibra turbo injectors to flow slightly more than the turbo injectors.....iv'e tried & tested these simple mods in my z650.
a couple of pics, first one shows the intake size difference of the T.B.s (1100 on top)

its always a pleasure to do me bit for care in the community Will :)


iv'e recently won a garrett gt15 turbo on ebay for a very good price which i was planning on using, only to get a message from the seller saying that the turbo is actually damaged and would i like a refund.....seem to get this quite alot when you drop on things for a good price :roll:
so to save wasteing my time again iv'e decided i'll stick with the standard ht10 turbo for the time being, thankfully iv'e got a really nice one in the spares bin...

it seems that the calibra injectors arent as common as they used to be and i carnt find any atm .....so done some more research and the stock turbo injectors will flow enough to easily give 150hp by incresing the fuel pressure from the stock 36psi to around 40-45psi which is about the industry standard of 3bar.
so easiest way for me at present is to fit all the standard kit with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.....
found most of the electrical components a home now and even started work on the old front mudguard off my 550 :D
