Probably doesnt look much different since my original post but heres the old gal so far. Had battery, overhaul of parts of the wiring, fork seals, front tyre, fluids and filter changed, ht and plugs, just brakes rear tyre and chain and sprockets for this year to get her roadworthy, more detailed work next year

While im waiting for money, been out there with autosol and elbow grease, front fronk stantions and cases cleaning up well considering no power tools used yet. more rust on the exhaust than photos show, clearing the surface stuff with my finger nails, 4into 1 section solid but beyond cosmetics

Not bad for a £500 fixer upper

everytime i autosol it, it gets a little more shiny, maybe polishing wheel needed for mirror finish :D

Rear tyre in, not sure of the look yet, its thinner and less square in the profile it seems to make back wheel look tiny? or its just me

rear sprocket awaiting chain and right hand side polishing done

Hi
Looking very shiny, nice . With ref to your rear tyre thats what they used to look like , its just that these days everyone ditches the original wheels and puts 17 inch ones on which makes a 120 or 130 section look like a M***D tyre. I am sticking with my original wheels but I must say my 130 Bridgestone BT45 is not so wide as the 130 Michelin I took off. Handles ten times better though !!

I run a 4.00x18 on the rear of my Z1000J with 2.15"x18 rim and the handling is far superior, compared to the 130.

But as I now got hold of a 2.5"x18, I will try my spare 130 on that one next.

Cheers,
Greg

yeah, mines not quite original, i should have put the 120 on but decided on removing the stupid 140 and dropping to a 130, i think its the pirellis that make it look thinner and smaller, it had avon super venoms on and when i replaced the front like for like the pirelli looks thinner

Hopefully the 130 will be fine handling wise :D

Thats looking very nice, think your right it would look better with a single
Z style headlight, apart from that very smart bike.

Totally, dont like the look of the original square lights, unless in a bikini fairing(my other thought was to go down the b2 look route), but thinking as its got the j engine(well almost), may be nice to make it more j looking :D
