Just picked up this butchered Kz1000Ltd.
The guy said on the phone that it hadnt run for around 2 years, so when I went to see it, I didnt hold out much hope as I was just looking for some parts for my 1075 project.

The previous owner was from Leeds area some where, who unfortunately died of cancer.

It has a nice set of konis & a newtronics electronic ignition (previously pirahna)
The frame has been hacked off along with the seat hinges, but I have no need for the frame anyway.
The clocks have been replaced with a couple of cafe type minis -All work fine though.
The guy said he had it checked out the frame number, which they said came back as a 1976 ?? although the head stock states 05-78

Anyway, I paid the guy and got it home.
The 26mm carbs were well gummed up, so I whipped them off and fitted a set of VM28s.

The ignition has been butchered & a single switch for the ignition is tucked under the headlight.
So connected up a battery, put some fuel in(remembering to pull in the clutch as it has an interlock)

FIRST PUSH OF THE BUTTON
:D :D
Starts, doesn't smoke, no rattles, goes through all the gears.
Well chuffed.
All the brakes work very well & discs look almost new.
Wheels are very good with just light surface oxidisation.

It will be stripped and most parts sold to fund my 1075.

Keith,
I am not sure yet of which bits I intend to keep,I do have a boyer branson set up also, so one of these will be used on my 1075.

It will be a few months before I get to stripping this one down, with holidays / work etc.

Will drop you a line when I get myself sorted.

Mj,
Yes it was bought from gumtree (ellon) A bargain I thought also (I didnt pay the asking price either :D :D

Zed1015- As this was originally from LEEDS THERE IS No V5.I also had my doubts, but,I have had it checked & its not come up stolen/scrapped.

Compo- It must be one of the few from Leeds that was actually legally owned at some point
