it's a US import Chris.................might that explain it?

looking at the log book though, it was first registered in 1998 in the UK........that would make it R reg?

bike was pissing oil out when I bought it from under the tacho drive where it had burst through the head due no doubt to some ham fisted arse not ensuring tacho gear was engaged properly with cam gear before tightening cam down!

been a right ballache with a mix of welding, putty and epoxy resin but think it should be ok now..........time will tell!
