A couple of starter pics.
The plan is .....
Z1000A1 frame
1075 engine
GSXR front forks USD
30mm thk steel bottom yoke
Billet ally top yoke
Straight bars
GPZ900 levers
Hydraulic clutch (GPZ900 slave cyl. modded to z1000 casing
Dresda steel swing arm
Koni rear shocks
Thinking at the moment of a racecrafter type paint scheme (with some differences)
4-1 S/Steel Under seat exhaust with twin 2.5" oval outlets either side of rear light/custom tail/ seat unit
Just finished the daughters car after she wrote it off - so I have no more excuses.

Got my yokes mocked up & trial fitted.
Still to drill & tap for the clamp areas.
Top yoke is 40mm ally t6 & milled,
Bottom is now 35mm thk steel
Original Zed stem reused
GSX USD forks with billet ally extensions,to keep the original length.
202mm centres
Using original zed clocks,,these will have white dials fitted.
Rear is now going to be GSX slabby modified to twin Koni shock (SORRY GRAY THE DRESDA JUST DID NOT LOOK RIGHT) I will post it back to you soon.
Bearings to fit & rear lower shock holes to align & drill.
I have my old z1000 mags on for the mock up but will be using the lesters once they get refurbished.

Looks like a good plan.
In case your interested HARRIS are flogging off some clearance OHLINS springs for USD gsxr forks that might fit yours.
Also if you have a Dresda up for grabs MCZ900 was looking for something like that for his moriwaki project.
Cheers

Phil,
The Dresda was I believe off of a H***a,it just didn't look chunky enough for what I have planned.
I got it from another site member - GRAY (Graham Strang) I will be posting it back to him shortly, better MCZ900 to PM contact Graham direct.
I may give Harris a call re the springs - thanks

Andy,
They are 20mm dia. solid stainless steel polished.
I formed one end into a "spade" type connection & bolted to the top shock mount, The other end was again form into a radius, then drilled & tapped into the grabrail.
The rear lugs had been modified years ago, cut down from the original with 2 of holes, one for the grab rail & one for the mini indicators

Some more pics,It seems to be very slow going as There is always "something else" that needs to be done around the house/work/family.
Front end is nearly sorted on first fix, just the mudguard brackets to fabricate.
Next will be the rear set mount plates (10thk ally, will be milled & drilled.)
Then the seat & tail (again both fabricated from 2.5thk aluminium )
Once all that is sorted, I will get the bare engine in to mock up the zorst.
Still trying to figure out the final details of the paint spec - Cafe racer ?? green/black ?? Or racecrafter style or or or !!
Or something like that...............

Starting to get somewhere now.
Bottom end is all done & MTC pistons fitted. These were easy to fit with the teflon buttons - I dont think I will use circlip type ever again !!
Just got some shiney bits back from Mikey - (Sorry Mikey my pictures dont do your work justice - some of my mates thought these were chromed !! instead of polished)
Lesters are back from powder coat. The outer rims are also powder but chrome coloured
Just waiting on my bottom yoke to come back & start fitting the front end.
Mikey is also polishing the USD forks, I tried to polish these myself - But I could never reach the same quality of the parts from Mikey.
I hope they arrived safely Mikey ?? I got your post code wrong & they ended up in Birmingham !!, but are now redirected to ya so you should see them tomorrow.
Modified Raask rear sets are also due back from powder next
week- Matt black.
Got my leather seat fitted, still the catch to buy & fit.
I am now happy with my tail piece, which is based roughly on the standard zed though but 5 inches shorter.
I should have my cam gear next week & then get the head fitted.

Mikey,
There are a couple of minor scratches -- Nothing compared to the Alternator casing though
The tops of the forks will not be seen as the extensions will cover the first 2".
There is also a small stainless link pipe for my black zeds V&H.
Cheers
