Since my thread got lost good chance to start fresh !
being a youngster when i started this 25 years old so my bike is OLDER than me , been dragging my heels a little . It's been a year and i havent done much SORRY !

Here's my old girl shortly after i first got her
Image

It wasent the first zed ive owned but ive always wanted a specail streetfighter.
Than the work started , luckily she werent a bog standard mint j-3 so it didnt make it as gutt wrenching to do as to what comes next

Image

This is the bike all stripped down in my mates workshop www.1offdesigns.co.uk based in dartford / kent
I managed to pick a bandit 1200 front end on the cheap so we put it in simpple enought job luckily my mate allowed me to get involved alot with the milling and fabrication which was good .

Image
Managed to scor3e a 600 fazor rear end on the cheap so this prompted me to mono shock the zed
Image
Image
Heres a pic of the top mount for the shock
Image
Good eh !!!!
And her she is back on her wheels again
Image
Not to ken on the fazor wheel im planing on changing it to a straight 3 spoke suzuki wheel either bandit 600 or 1200 im going to have to have a measure up and see whats going to work best
Image
Good old dad making sure its ok hahaha
Image
I got given a rear half of an old harris and i had an old neta and a mig welder in the shed and made my self a netarris lol
Image
Then came were the hell do i put the battery so i started to knock this up ( please note the card board battery )
Image
Image
Thats about it for the moment just doing the wiring then tidy it up were needed, Also got my sweaty mitts on a gpz1100a3 motor and a set of mikuni 36mm flatslide mo hahaha

thanks pigford im try'ing to impress you guys  im quite limited as to what i can do with a poking stick , angle grinder, and a tape measure the bigger stuff i have to call in the favours and watch and learn .
I didnt have any metal work class's at school when i was a boy !
ok it looks a bit of a shit tip at the moment but for me its a slow moving project that i can have a tinker with when ive got spare time and im still dry building it before everything gets a nice coat of paint and powder coating etc.......

Marve,

don't worry about the tools and skills, the bike will look awesome. None of us started off with a fully equipped workshop. 6 years ago, I was taking my XJR1200 engine apart on the sidewalk, because I didn't have a shed.

Just keep at it and it'll be brilliant.

Cheers,
Greg

Marve, I would worry about lack of special tools or skills, the main thing is to have an idea of what you want it to look like and work towards that. Skills will be picked up along the way, and if your not sure of something ask, people on here are a great help. Best of luck with the project :)

Marve it's like youve not been away. Looking good so far and stick with it if circumstances permit. The fact that you still have it and you have brought it back here for scrutiny says a lot about you and youre intentions. I imagine that people will respect that and offer what help they can. That said you look to be doing just great on youre own.

Wel done that man.

Thanks for the kind word's

Just bought an ignition for it as i did not have one to fit the bandit top yoke
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250936985484? ... 1423.l2649

Also really thinking about getting a black and decker power file for them finishing touch's , As im strongly thinking about removing the foot rest brackets and having the rear sets put on the frame

So if any one has a cheap set of adjustable rear sets let me know :D
