Asphalt Cowboy

#1 PostAuthor: tlc » Mon Oct 03, 2011 3:37 pm

A while ago I mooted, only mooted mind, about possibly realising the monies from my Spanish J. Since then there has been continuous speculation that it is up for sale. Well one day it will be but for now my plan is to use it for Germany 2012. I do have someone that has expressed an interest so will keep my word that he will have first refusal.
My dilemma, and here is the awful economics of it, is that the sale of that bike will only be come to one fifth of what I wish (In my dreams) to spend on the project. There will be compromise after compromise I am sad to say but one day. Well you know how it is.

It has been my stated aim to report this solely in the NewZletter, however I need a place to be asking questions. I will have thousands of those and there will also be many requests for bits and pieces.

I have undertaken to build a bike from parts, foolish I know, and as cheaply as possible. I do realise that by doing it this way it will take longer and even cost more than by buying a complete machine to modify, sadly I have very little money at the moment.

No matter though as I have plenty of time to complete this and in a couple of years I will have at least some disposable income.

Anyway, here is the basis of what will be the Asphalt Cowboy

Engine and Frame is always a good start Chris, other bits can be picked up quite easily. Good luck with the project, look forward to seeing it progress.

This is wonderful mate, the fun and joy is the journey not the destination,I enjoy doing my bike even if I replace a bolt a day and I still do not know when my project will be ready
Cheers

Hi Nanno and thanks for the offer.

What I'm really after is a modern 43mm right way up front end.

Didn't Lomi have a rolling ZRX chassis, that would have the front end you want.

What wheels are you looking to fit and what size. Would CMA's hollow spoke 18 inch rear 17 inch front be of interest. Proper road wheels with rear cush drive.

Mark. I was aware of that but the piggy bank is empty. Plenty of time to find the parts.

Ian. Everything these days has 3 spoke which although may help me stand it up are not what I`m looking to end up with. Do you know of some cheap :save

This is the look I`m after. I know, I know OZ`s have no cush but it`s the five spoke offset from the hub that does it for me. ZR550`s look similar.

Hi Chris, you're right the Zephyr 550 and also 1100 have the offset 5 spoke pattern. Best of luck with the project mate.
