Starting to take shape after a few months in boxes:
Was running in Aug last year but stripped down over winter to tidy up a little, which turned out to be tidy up a lot

Yeah loads so that I can remeber how it came appart.

End of summer 2009
Will take more and post them as I go. It's not a full restoration since the budget won't stretch but hopefully it's a base for a nice bike in the future.

LOL, not a tired as when I had to push it after the throttle cable broke.
...and when it melted the fuse box
...and when it got a flat tyre
...and when it was pissing petrol out of the carbs all over the brand new rear tyre that I just replace because of the flat.

Looking real good. Hope you enjoy the rebuild as much as I did mine when I done it. Its a fantastic feelling when the starter first whirrs into life and then the engine fires.

I am really looking forward to getting back on it and riding it. Hopefully the ride will be even better now with the new bearings, brakes etc.
I don't intend to fully restore it this year. I want to get it on the road for spring to enjoy it.
The most frustrating thing at the mo is getting the correct bits together. Bolting it together is fun and very rewarding when you see the results.

After finding out I had two different calipers and then finding a matching one at Stoneleigh I have now got the brakes back on
New stainless pistons, seals, brake lines, pads, banjo bolts, copper washers, fluid, stainless bleed nipples and a coat of Tough Black.
Been pushing it up and down the drive, locking the wheels up for the last 1/2 hour. Knackered now
I know they are the wrong way round but I like then there ;)

Looking nice.
I am also putting the calipers on my A4 to the rear of the fork legs and was advised by a poster from Australia (I think) on this site that you will need to use a z1000 a2 speedo cable which is slightly longer so that it clears the calipers.
I can't confirm from my own experience whether this correct as my project is a very slow affair and haven't got to that stage yet.
