hey, hey now don't bust my chops over those struts. i told you the p.o.has the stock shocks for it. i've got half a wild hair to set it up as a retro street legal drag bike or superbike replica with stock paint. just been throwing a little clean up love at it.
a bit of controversy has now reared its ugly head. some asian chap on the board here claims the paint is not original. the previous owner and a good friend of mine whos been working on these old nails since they were new says that is original paint. any comments?

The white and gold stripes at the bottom of the tank and tail piece do look a little short - but if you're happy with it, leave it

one thing i would say is, the seat is shorter at the back, that makes the stripe on the ducktail appear shorter than it is. i have noticed some z1b's have an extra white stripe at the bottom, some dont, i dont know which is original. try running your finger over the stripes 13, you should be able to tell if they ar transfers or painted stripes, if you are bothered of cause.

my apologies to George. if residing in Nippon, i assumed he would be Nipponese.
back to the stripe. Georges bike is a respray, re-stripe, correct? i've read Kawasaki's paint/stripe quality control was a wee bit supect in those years. paint hue variations were quite commonplace. might this be the case with stripe applications?
