Hi Guys

This is my first project, i was given this bike around 2 weeks ago, it's spent the last 4-5years being overgrown with brambles in a friend of a friends garden!

It's a 1979 (B3) KZ1000 Ltd With, what i think, is a MII A4 Engine.

Any comments, help or advice in my quest to get this sweet thing back where it belongs would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John, looks like quite a project, you'll need lots of time and ££££££s, but will be interesting and hopefully rewarding!

Reminds me of my A2 when i got it
but i could see past all the rust and corrosion
and i was like a kid in a sweet shop, good luck with the rebuild john

My Z1000 was in a similar condition when I got it. I will enjoy watching this ressurection, hope you enjoy it to John.

Can't wait Ginger, just want to get stuck in there, but want to take it slow, want to do it right if you know what i mean. It deserves to be done right man.

You are correct it is a MK2 motor

Just thought i'd put afew more pic's up, just to give you guys an idea as to the "state" of my American project.
















Just started a list of the parts i will be needing that are not with the bike ie Clocks, SEAT, warning panel etc. It looks like it's going to be a BIG list, but it's all part of the fun . . . . . . so i'm told !!

You're gonna need some deep pockets John, but I think you've worked that one out!
This is the worst part, dealing with all the filthy, rusty, oily crap.
It will only get better!!

I'm even thinking of parting with my beloved K6 GSXR750 to get the KZ sorted Ginger, that's how bad i want to see this through!!

if your scrapping the zorst,would it be possible for me to entertain scrounging the baffle off you. beer tokens are available if needed.

Looks like a sound project bike. As long as all the moving parts are oiled and greased and the engine and brakes are set up properly, the bit of surface rust shouln't make any difference.
