Martin's Moto Martin.......

Went and collected today. I'm well chuffed with it and what a great bloke. Barn full of old bikes including a very smart Lawson and a Kettle going through rebuild. He also has a CBX Moto Martin but not kept at the same place so did not get to see that which was a shame.

I now need to decide what to do with it. It has not been on the road since 2002 and the electrics look very home made. Not sure either of the heritage of either front or back end but wheels look to be ZXR750. The tank has a small dent in the top so need to get that repaired and there is some stress cracking on the fibre glass round the fairing mounts. Might whip the engine out to have a look what might be lurking inside but I got a spare GPz engine I can transplant if necessary.

Exhaust is very close to the swinging arm so that might take some fettling and needs a respray. Recommendations on colour schemes welcomed.

Front end looks more like Bandit 12 to me.
I'm pretty sure that GSXR Slingshot wheels have a slight radius to 'em whereas the Bandit are straight. If you go onto OldSkoolSuzuki you find all the answers.
The Suzuki wheels are also stamped Suzuki on the wheel rim.

Thanks for the pointers. Need fork seals so advice on front end very timely.

Paul - would love to see what a Moto Martin should look like so great to see pictures.
