My new Z

Bought this today.

Wish I'd kept the last one but it was far too good and clean to do what I intend.

Image

My original plan was to do something like this if I got a z1r

Image

Happy though that I got an z1000A1 and I intend something like this.

Image

or if I could get the tank then this:

Image

I still have this so I'm going to take my time as I have something to run around on:

Image

I'll be looking for some advice on front ends to graft straight on and loads of other stuff.

Must say I really do like that black by itself. I have been wondering what paint syle to go with(whether original, or custom) and I think I may have found what i am looking for.

It's running perfect. Just back from the west coast in the pishing rain but it didn't mind. Needs a deep clean now. Think I might take the pipes off to get in there and clean it properly. Just turned 5k miles so not done a deal really. You still on the hunt for something? I have decided to offload the xjr and concentrate my efforts on getting a nice reliable z. Want it back?

Good to know the xjr is still running fine. I'm on the hunt for a Z1 at the moment so will have to leave the xjr although it would be nice to have it back.

This isn't going to be everones cup of tea but......

Got the seat today from P&P. Also picked up my blasted and clear powdercoated tank. Looks very industrial. Plastics will go to the painters this week. Will be finished in gloss black to match cafe fairing. Got a set of Showa piggyback CB1300 shocks today. Get my straight bars this week. Looking to get heat proof tape to wrap the downpipes but not sure if that is the way I want to go. Fancy a nice black exhaust. Not long to go now.

Looks good so far Ken. Is that a new seat or did P&P do a restore job?

Looking good, love the tank. Try www.camcoat.com they will ceramic coat your existing headers & collector balck for around £150, then just add a nice new(ish) can.

It's a new seat as I didn't have a usable base. £190 delivered. I thought that was a steal.
