Had a bit of a set back :cry: :cry:
Two weeks ago I took the frame to be welded & powdercoated, on Saturday I received this;

I bumped into Nick from Griffs at the Shepton Mallet show, he told me they had not started work on this frame, which was fortunate.
I could carry on with this frame & take it to be inspected once the build is completed, but my fears are it may be issued with a 'Q' plate, or I get a real 'jobsworth' inspector, who won't pass it at all, because it's been too modified.
I have decided to move onto frame No.3 This one is registered in my name. Today I have been busy grinding off the redundant brackets, tomorrow I will cut the frame to install the footrest mounts & then I should be back to where I was three weeks ago :roll: :roll:

Pretty much back on track now, finished mod's on frame (No.3) & took it to be welded up on Thursday. Had it done at a local company, Hinton Palmer Ltd, who turned it round in two hours!!! Carried it straight through to Nick @ Griff's (they both have units in the same complex). I'm confident Nick will turn this round pretty quickly. I will post pic's when it comes back, sorry I didn't get any of the welding....... It was done by an old geezer, who must have welded all his life........ Quality :D

I have been busy sorting out my engine, ready to fit into the frame once it returns.
I am a big fan of the 'frame over' method, so this is the first 'component' that will be fitted.
The barrels needed a little fin damage repairing. I know 'just the man', thanks to this forum.
Before the repair I took them to Griff's to be vapour blasted. I then took the barrels to Paul (Maralyn). Paul added some material & let me do the final 'trimming' myself.
The Dremmel, made fairly light work of the job. Hopefully I'll get to paint them tomorrow. Here's the pic's of tonights efforts;ImageImageImage

Slid me shiney re-honed, re-paired & re-painted barrels over me lovely Wiseco 1170 pistons.
I have 'upgraded' my piston ring compressor from old bleach bottles (see my Snotter thread) to some of Wickes' best drainpipe. I've gotta say, with a bit of patience it worked a treat, & cost me all of a fiver! :lon :lon
