I've put the pulley cover on the back burner for the time being as it just does not look right so i thought i'd better get an oil cooler sorted as this is the last major thing besides the exhaust that's preventing me from starting the motor. I wanted a 10 row full width cooler so that the hose would route either side of the frame , After being quoted around £75 + vat from earls and goodridge i decided to take a chance on evil bay and bought one from a shop at £31 delivered. On arrival i find that it is EXACTLY the same as the last one i bought from earls, only £40 quid cheaper. RESULT . Not wanting to go all bling i've bought some plain plated fittings and non braided goodyear hose. PIC - 1 shows the results of today's session with the hammers and the large spinny thing. I turned up some hose finishers / spacers and countersunk washers from some ally bar and bent a bit of ally sheet in the vice for the mount which i also incorperated some rubber mounts pinched from some R6 body work.

Had a big problem that i've been putting off for a while but finally got it sorted today. Trouble was that the rear frame bracing prevented the carb float bowl being removed without taking off the seat,air filter, carb and cables etc. Not good for the forthcoming carb setup and main jet changes so i thought i'd try sort it out. Good job i had a spare float bowl so if it went all wrong there would be no harm done. Pic 1, shows the bracing close to the carb ( Its only one screw i can't get at and it happens to be the longest) Pic 2, shows the hole i bored in the bowl in line with main jet and an ally insert to take a 14mm internal thread and blanking plug. Pic 3, shows it welded on after making a jig to hold it all square and also a snug fitting socket tool (shown with the jet in place) for removing and refitting the main jet. Just waiting for the 14mm tap and die to arrive so i can finish it off and get it fitted.

Mmm ! Don't know about piggy just doggy ? . Would really like to but am only on dial up takes forever just to load pic's and anyhow just remembered i got to make the water/alcohol injection system first . Everytime i think i'm nearly there another thing gets added to the list. Will have to get myself over to one of the meets or maybe on the club stand at stafford if i can get a tanker to follow me for the in flight fuelling.

Ally Angle ? Pah! that's too easy and costs money . Tap 'n' die are on their way. M14 x 1.5. Needed them for another job anyway so won't be an expensive one off.
