Thanks for your positive comments on my bike.
I have just got the wheels on now and I reckon it looks really nice....just what I was looking for.
the 160 has maxed out all the clearances at the back and the 6mm offset was luckily spot on. Any less and the chain would hit the tyre....any more and the chain would hit the shock. As it is I had to put the whole cush drive arrangement in the lathe tonight and spin down all the sprocket bolts and nuts because they were so close to the swing arm. The tyre has about 4mm clearance on the swinging arm at the front each side so its all nice and snug. I'd rather juggle it about that than give away width because it still doesn't look wide...but does the job of not looking skinny.

I quite liked the zephyr shocks but the bluey grey looked a bit wrong so I painted them gold to match the bits and pieces that have been gold anodized....unfortunately they look like tarts handbag now so I might have to tone them down.
I'm also going to have to improve on the exhaust bracket!

Pert huh?

Trouble is with the high clocks is that the speedo cable is too short.
I am hoping that Speedy cables can make a longer one. If they have the right fittings it will, fortunately, only be about the same price as a standard new one.

I spun up some ally posts to space the rear indicators out on the original shock mounts so the seat can open OK. They are polished right up but it doesn't show in the pick. The problem was trying to drill the shock mount pins to route the cable. I snapped a drill off in the first one and gave up there and then so unfortunately the wires are routed alongside the post.....bit of a shame.

as you can see its running a bit lean at the moment .....i am waiting for the carb bodys to be bead peened and the plating to come back.
I am also waiting for my brake caliper adaptors to be finished by my mate so I can get the last few ally bits (torque arm, caliper adaptors and kickstart shaft cover) anodized.

I asked for the 'road/race' baffle to be supplied with the PMC pipe but looking at the fact it is still fairly small....should probably have specified the full race jobby. The original 'road' one is friggin tiny....the Japs must have a noise issue over there.

I have also got to make a new brake pedal because the old Raask one was nasty. I would like to make it in ally and polish it but will probably end up doing a steel one and chrome plating it so that it is not too chunky.

Incidentally..... that's not the oil cooler on the bench in the background!! Seeing the radiator there reminded me I still have to sort the old cooler out, tart it up and plumb it in. I think I am going to make a small shroud for it and paint it in the Black/gold pearl .....but then I quite like the purposeful look of an oil cooler just plonked on the front....Hmmmm.

Thanks.
Not sure if it is an import. It was just a scruffy 'shed' of a bike that local classic bike enthusiast/specialist Cosmo (Cosmo Classics) was selling cheap.
(He normally has a few zeds for sale; http://www.cosmoclassic.f9.co.uk/Blank%20Page%202.htm )
It was rough enough to not worry about chopping about and had lots of 'wrong' bits like the A4 instruments etc but it doesn't really matter to me on this one.
