Mick,
I'll make sure them '"red band's" get disposed of in the post box, I get piss*d off picking them up off of my step's, although to be fair my current postie doesn't drop 'em.

Zeroed,
You must be talking about the "Mardyke", I used to get in there in the very early eighties........ Good time's!!

Finished painting these at 3.00AM this morning! They have had two coats of etch primer, four coats of base coat & three coats of clearcoat. I managed to heat my garage to 20 degrees C during the process & had left the heating on all night......... Or so I thought, turned out the missus had turned it off!
Wanted to peel off all the masking asap, as I have found with some stuff if you leave it too long it can become a bit more permanent than needed. Anyway, just finished unmasking & I am really 'Chuffed' with the results. :lon :lon :lon

Base coat & Clear coat was supplied by www.bikecolours.com who offer a very good service, with respect to quality of product & delivery speed.

I am that impressed I am considering painting a complete body set :sou

Wheels look really good Steve, did you put new bearings in before painting?

Mick, I never planned to paint untill 3.00am, just sort of happened that way. It went, Coat of paint, Breathe some fumes, Can of Stella. Coat of paint, Breathe some ................... I won't write it all, but I was 'flying' by 3.00am :ref :ref :ref

Right,
Down to some serious stuff.
Took it for it's MOT test today & PASSED :lon :lon :lon
After spending several day's sorting brakes, tyres & suspension,

I decided to whip of the cam cover, which was leaking due to the excessive use of sealant, to fit a new gasket if nothing else.
I shouldn't have been surprised to find this! Yes, that's a bloody great crack in the cam cap
You can also see some of the excessive sealer stuck to the bottom of one of the cam bolts. These have since been cleaned & all had a dye run down the length of the thread.

Checked valve clearances while I was at it.............There aren't any on some of them :ek :ek :ek
While my thoughts are not to use this as it is, I still plan to take it to the ACE, thinking that a couple of hundred 'Gentle' miles can not do it too much harm....... who knows how long it has been like it anyhow :?
If it all goes wrong you can read about it HERE!!
I will try & post some pictures of the bike with it's new RED clothes on asap

To be honest Chris, it's not much better now, I substituted some parts from my spares stash, but have new bearings on order. One of the reasons I wasn't over confident about passing the MOT. I'll tell you about the Bounty fork seal bodge on Sunday :hon :fou
