The casings are chrome plated, as many other parts. I restore my Z as a "custom light", and some guy don't like all that chrome. But our bikes back in late 70's was often built like this, and I want to have my personal look on the A4.

Obr,

Yep, that 900 looks fantastic, does the engine have to be completly striped to vapor blast? I have a Z1B with 9000 original miles so although I'd like my cases to look like that I really don't want to strip the engine.

Has anyone got anything that is just as nice that works for a black engine?

I am working on a ST and although I have cleaned the original finish, if you rub to hard its easy to take it off.

Thanks
Nick.

Hi QuickNick

Yes, I'm sorry :| You have to strip completly to do the vapour blast. Because it's dust of both sand and glass :| The guy that do the blasting for me do a really good job by cleaning the casings, but I do the last cleaning my self before mounting

The bike's looking realy nice Obr, keep the pictures coming :D the light custom look is just right a few little bits to polish but enough of the original Z look for the standard fans :clap keep up the good work.
