Bike is taking shape now. Just fitted renthal fat bars, got to machine out swingarm to take 35mm bearings because nobody makes 33mm bearings. Then I can start to fit 6 inch rim into it.

just had a big shock today  i took swingarm to a local engineer that i use!!! (or should i say used to use) to bore out swingarm to 35mm to take bearings as they dont make 33mm ones and make two spacers!! As it was not going to be easy to set up they reconed it would take prob three hours, so at £30 a hour i thought if it took maybe two hours longer at worst the max it would cost is £150. went to pick up today only to be charged £370 as they said it took 13 hours!!!!!!!!!! I think i am going to scrap project now as i am totaly PISSED RIGHT OFF and cant be botherd any more and it still needs shock mounts welded on when i have made them

That`s the credit crunch for you.

They`re trying to make up their years profits from one customer. 13 hours my arse.

Also they should have phoned you since it was so far outside their estimate !

I`d have said well I`ll leave it their with you then mate. They would soon then have come to some arrangement.

It's well out of order them not contacting you about the price, as it.s pretty obvious to anyone that it is excessive, to say the least. I would have told him to shove it where the sun dont shine, in fact I would probably have shoved it up there myself, that's two hours work, three if your being generous. Anyway try not to let it get you down as you've got a great looking bike there.
