Regarding vacuum gauge fittings. Up to engine number Z1E-01000, vacuum take offs were a press fit into the head held in with a chemical bond product (which were all replaced with screw thread fittings by dealers). Engines Z1E-01000 to Z1E-02173, the threaded fitting was installed during production. From Z1E-02174 onwards the vacuum take off was in the rubber carb holder.
Got some service bulletins regarding this if you are interested.
Z1E01000 was not a cut off, although the factory thinks it was, as I have pics of Z1E01253 with press in ports............
This is the correct factory info, but I'm always looking for info for the odd bike that got past the inspectors with possibly an early head that was left over & used on a later model much like some of the 73 speedos used well past the vin 20000, It's just the rivet counter side of me.LOL
What are you planning for the new site update? Miss the detailed old posts that vanished...........

Ted, You should have a service bulletin on this early factory attempt to repair the vacuum ports problem before they decided to screw them into the head...........
Cheers
