Thank Padders lad :P Been 2 1/2 yrs, but didn't rush. I was putting off starting her up for months..... but I can't believe my luck, the motor is a real peach & fookin' quick

Gotta just sort out the carbs as they're a bit "fluffy" at 1/4 throttle at lower revs, then will think about the ACE after Easter :!: May have to lower the foot pegs a bit

Thats it for a while, ta Bear

Very nice. :up
No headlight that I can see. daylight MOT ? so that reflector not needed.
My tester tried sticking one on mine till I enlightened him of the reg's.
Just discovered there's a large digi scale at my sons engineering works so i'll be sneaking mine on when his boss is out and see if I can beat that 180 kg of yours :) .

Thats interesting - I'll scrape that reflector off then

The weighing was a bit "approx" as the tester sits on it then deducts his weight :| I do have access to a "weighbridge" at work, but thats +/- 20kg

Dam are we getting so old as to give a fuck about weight, and make up for our heavy sorry asses.

Fortunately I am still a 11 stone weakling being a little off 60 yrs old..fooking great I think..

Sure as hell 80 plus bhp going to carry your heavyweight ass fast enough to worry the camers's

174mph will miss the camera, dam that has to be fun

That magnum sure looks good, even beginning to fancy one myself, usd forks and fuck off fat tyres aswell though, hid lights for tripping in the night..

Enjoy your ride, hard work and effort, sell the family.always worth good money in saudia plus camels

get some hid stuff on and enjoy nightriding..have fun along the way
Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, beer in the other, body used up, totally worn-out and screaming, "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

Done a few odds & sods after a couple of miles "shake-down".

The clutch actuator was rubbing the drive chain when used, so spaced out my classy homemade sprox cover & alls good now.

The Z1R 28mm carbs were running 120 mains & 17.5 pilots..... so now fitted 22,5 pilots - will test in next day or so.

The carb clamp screws were a bit rounded, so fitted allen bolts now.

Also ordered a softer rear shock spring.... did have a 650 lb which was a bit fierce, so ordered a 550 lb only £40 delivered ( http://www.dfaulknersprings.com ) Peter runs the place is is a great chap, very helpful & knows his stuff

So, just spent a good 1/2 hour with a length of straight skirting board - getting the wheels in line..... the rear was out about 10mm compared to thw front (skew-whiff), but sorted now by winding the l/hand adjuster in a couple of turns.

Then it was off to test the new carb settings (& fill her up).

:tooled

I don't know what spec this Z1R motor is, but I assure you it is NOT standard :!: When its not spinning up, it's doing power-wheelies in first & will lift (a few mm) in second

I think I'm falling in love with this beasty :wub

Mark,

Thats the beauty of the weight loss I mentioned plus the short wheel base on Harris's even with a standard motor they are like that!!
