Just had a re-read of the project site and blog.
You mentioned that the system was a converted Datsun one.
There were some problems with Harry's fuel pressure regulator and when i googled the Bosch part number for the FPR it came back as Nissan or Mitsubishi i forget which.
Anyway just in case it suffers the same fate as his it might be worth following the same route as i believe the part was listed as still available under the other manufacturer's id.
other things that tripped us up were;
the double (control) relay beneath the LHS cover which he had renewed and the fuel pump which had jammed. The pump was still spinning but wasnt pumping. When i took it apart it was solid with gum inside and once cleaned out was working fine.
The fuel pressure was outside the stated limits in the FI manual and i believe that some people have fitted an adjustable FPR to overcome this but for normal running the (low i think) reading for fuel pressure was adequate but not ideal.
Adjustable FPR are available readily from ebay but i couldnt tell you which one would be suitable.
You will need a glycerin filled fuel pressure gauge with the correct range (not so easy) to accurately assess the fuel pressure if you havn't already got one.
The 8mm nut which adjust throttle body 1 or 2 is a swine to get at.
You may need to be creative and buy a cheap chocolate spanner and bend it into a suitable shape or you'll end up running on three cylinders.
You may also need a large quantity of fuel hose/'T' pieces/connectors and jubilee clips to run the series of tests in the FI manual.
Hope this helps if a little vague. Its been a couple of years.

I'm not sure what happened to the indicator bar. It doesn't look like the bracket has been modified so may be its been replaced at some time. I was thinking of using the Z750B bracket from zpower https://www.z-power.co.uk/merchantmanager/popup_image.php?pID=1217
It looks like it will fit. Anyone have any thoughts?
Hi Shaun.
It looks like somebody has cut them off to me, as you can see the through holes and the elongated hole behind the number plate where the wires exit.
I saw the one Ollie has shown you but he beat me to posting it.
Good man Ollie

Thanks Gus. I ordered a pair from cmsnl in the end. I think they moved the decimal point since you posted the link in the last thread. I'm sure they were up at EUR250 when I looked

Quick update photo - It looks almost finished but these seems to be an ever lasting list of to do's.
I have been struggling with one of the an exhaust I bought new Harris exhausts from Norman Hyde over the weekend and still don't have it mounted. Id be interested if anyone has one fitted and could send me a photo of the engine mounts and the bracket to frame mount.

Ive made some progress on the old H such that she now starts up ..but the idle rev's are in the order of 6000rpm before I chicken out and shut her off.
Video Clip: High Idle rpm
Update:
Some of you may remember i had some issues with the ECU running warm - or more specifically a transistor running way too hot which i strongly suspected was draining the battery. The ECU is a Lucas 4CU and the transistor is a power transistor that drives the injectors. The transistor was cooked and short in all directions so I replaces it with an equivalent. Also the injectors tested out bad so replaced them. I am running a borrowed fuel pump which i suspect is too powerful but as there is a regulator in line i think this should be ok. She now starts and holds charge without the ECU acting as a seat warmer.
I have ran through the Z1000H troubleshooting guide that CHRISU posted me and everything checks out ok so far as I can test - I say this because I don't have a pressure or vacuum gauge so couldn't do all tests.
So, would any of you fine gents have any thoughts on the high idle speed as its driving me nuts. I was thinking that its possible this could be an air leak or a stuck open butterfly flap in the throttle body but I've had the thing out and checked it over before reseating it and checking for leaks. Also the throttle operation looks ok in so much as the flaps are fully closed when in the idle throttle position.
Apologies for the long winded post but i though the more info the better.

ollie wrote:it may sound silly ,but have you checked the idle adjuster on the butterflys, make sure its not wound in to far, also what about the throttle valve switch .
Yep. The throttle adjuster is wound fully down.
"throttle valve switch" ..are you talking about the throttle position sensor - the black box attached to the throttle body? I did end up cleaning the contacts as this wasn't providing a good contact when the throttle was closed (idle). I'll re-check it though ...
