Thanks for that info Phil.
This actually throws up a real can of worms. Having firstly decided I wanted an 18" front wheel I have now accepted there is more choice with a 17".
I think I dont want to go more than 160 on the back so the next question is will I have to look at a 110 for the front as a 120 would be a mismatch ?

Chris,
Not sure you would notice the difference whichever you go for just check out the recommended tyre width for the rim. Most 18's seem to be 110 anyway.
The other thing to consider with 18"'s is whilst they look right in old skool stuff compared to 17"'s the price of tyres for them is appalling.
I have been playing with some lately and if you go for a wide back 160 you can get radials Avons ultarstorm 2's dual compond modern tyres!!
£238 a pair.
But for a bridegstone 110 BT45 FRONT Try £106 on line is the cheapest.
Dont even start me on the price of Avon 18" am22/23 race rubber, I have bought bikes cheaper than I can get a pair of them for £400 approx
So I would consider the 17"s wide choice cheap rubber and cheap wheels.
A complete pair of bandit wheels with discs and sprocket carrier can be had for £70.
p.s. I forgot to say ZRX YOKES FITTED STRAIGHT INTO MY ZED WITH JUST A BEARING CHANGE, YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME WITH THE GPZ

forks.
Now that you mention it? How do you think I got the measurements!!
Seriously But I have not decided if I am going to use them yet so 'll be hanging onto them for my project.
Howvever If I decide to let them go I'll let you know first, but you'll have probably finished two more projects by the time I have finished mine.
Regards
Phil

Look at aprilia mille wheels, they are rather similar to the OZ-rims.

Those wheels do look the "dogs dooh daah's".
Just done some sniffing around ebay & found this.................

235mm at the pivot point
.......... Could have almost been made for a Zed.
I know what's on my shopping list for the 'next but one' project.

Now this is much better, cheaper & comes with a brand new tyre fitted.....

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
Thanks for the suggestions chaps. I have my swinger at the welders as researching shock mounts I discovered they can be quite expensive. Much cheaper to put these on.
As far as the wheels go cost is the biggest concern. Also I didn`t want to put a 180 tyre on. For some strange reason I prefer a 160. Don`t ask why because I can`t answer
Just fancied it that`s all.
I bought a rear wheel from a CBR600FW for £6.49
Scott very kindly offered to collect it for me. Thank you Scott and I`ll see you next week.

Happily the 600 SRAD swinger, which will fit with some spacing widthways, has a 25mm shaft with a 16mm hole. Just right for a Zed spindle to go through. That saves a lot of hassle as I can just cut to length to act as a shaft.

I double checked there is enough length against the Zephyr arm which there is.
