Dixie, the tank first had a coat of House of Kolor Orion Sliver, then Lotus Metallic Black and to finish it off, 5 coats of Kosmic Kandy apple red.
The sparkle you see is the metallic black showing underneath the kandy.

I know it's been a though weeks since my last update on the re rebuild of my Z650...i've had the man flu and it's gone nuts at work...so not a lot of time to do anything to the Zed.
Anyway got into the garage today, just for a hour or so...to do a bit of tinkering you know what i mean.
I thought i would fit the Z1000 side stand at i got from Ian (MCZ900) that we did swaps for a Z650 i had.
The Z1000 stand went off to Mikey's for chroming and came back within a couple of weeks...nice one Mikey
That's when i noticed the side stand spring bin on the 650/1000 frames are in different places as are the brackets on the side stands themselves...meaning the spring isn't under tension to hold the stand up and out of the way properly.
So what to do
the answer was a quick look on evilbay and a chrome aftermarket spring was found for £6.00 quid inc p&p
Anyway you can see it worked quite well and now my 650 shouldn't lean over quite so much as the 1000 side is about half an inch longer than the 650.

I know it's been some time sense my last post about the rebuild of my Z650 but things have been working against me lately and only managed to get back into the garage a week or so ago.
Anyway i got a nice new 5/8 master cylinder from Z Power a while back but i didn't want it in black...so out came the polisher and i set to work...i don't think it came out to bad.
Before...
After...
I also fitted a set of original handle bars that i got off evilbay that were sent to Mikey's for rechroming...many thanks Mikey
Last but least was the paint job from Simon...which all went on without any problems...many thanks again Simon.
Then today it was off to my local MoT station for the mot...and guess what it passed
after that i popped along to the post office for the tax...which had gone up £1.10p B*****DS
So i'm already for the spring/summer to start
Hopefully i'll see some of you at the Ace on the 28th.
