Si has just sent me a pic of the stripe layout on the tank to check if it's OK with me...it's not the final...just to see if he's on the right track.

He'll send me some more pics when he's masked it up properly.

Looks pretty good to me :D :D :D

Just been reading through this project build, and i'd just like to say thanks for the bike porn!
Amazing level of detail, and top spec finish on the paint. Just gorgeous...

I know it's been some time since my last update on how the new paint job is coming along...i've been so busy at work, what with Christmas coming up...all the hospitals want their stuff before the 25th :grr

Anyway i was going to pick up the paint last Sunday but then i get a text from Si saying that he's noticed a problem with tank...there's a mark in the candy so he will have to flat it back and relacquer :grr :grr

Hopefully it will all be finished for me to go and pick it up this coming Saturday :D

Here are some pics that Si sent me of the finished mudguard/side panels and tail piece.

This has been a fascinating chapter in your thread Guy.

I think I know where I will be sending my old scrapper of a tank.

Well what can i say about yesterday...the weather was appalling as i set off for Simon's to pick up the paint work...the rain was coming down in biblical amounts at 8.00 am.

I got to Si's at 12.30...not to bad as it was only safe to do 60-70 mph on the motorways on the way to Bury St Edmunds from Reading.

But i didn't worry about the weather when Si brought the paint set down from upstairs...all i could say was WOW.

The finish is amazing...not a ripple or any orange peel to be seen.

I'm still waiting for the sun to come out, so i can truly see what it looks like.

Also i'm in two minds what colour i should but down on the V5 for the DVLA...is it Brown or Black :?:

Anyway here's some pics from Si house and from my Zed Room, which is were it's going to stay now for the next 3 months.

Enjoy.... :D

And finally i can't say a big enough "Thank You" to Simon for doing what i wanted, the right colour and for keeping me updated on how things were coming along.

"Thanks Mate"
