Had yet another update from Si on how the tank is coming along.

Simon is now getting to the end of the filling process, it's been filled/sanded 5 or so times now just about ready to prime...just got to remove a few bits of filler from around badge recesses etc and she's good to go for the high build primer.

The high primer will then be blocked back so the tank is perfect and ready for paint.

That's it for now...i'm sure Si will be sending more updates soon.

Simon has sent me another e-mail...this time saying

"Tank has now been etched, and then high build primed"

It's starting to look like a decent tank again :D

When I was prepping my Z1 paintset the guy sprayed a misting of black paint over the grey primer like that picture - I then had to use that as a guide so as not to take too much off when I was flatting it.
Seemed to work well.

Your right Mark, it's called a guide coat, so you can see if there are any small dents/scratches that have been missed.

Had another e-mail from Si saying "The tank has been given a few coats of white sealer and today he'll lay down some silver and start putting the stripes on"

"Then comes the black and candy red"
