Pretty much finished this.....

Managed to get it through it's MOT late in Feb & taxed it from the start of March. Although the weather has not encouraged riding in recent weeks, I managed to get the bike out for a short spin this afternoon. :D

I'm really pleased with how the bike pulls, considering the timing was only set statically, seems to carburate well too. Just some oil seeping from the top of the cam end bungs, which seems a little strange, but I'll re-check the shims in the not to distant future & deal with it then.

I'm still not completely sure about the exhaust. I'm considering fitting a chrome Vance & Hines...... We'll see how we go.

Here's a few pics, Centre stand is only meant to be temporary, but I can't get it off with the exhaust fitted.

Personally I think thats your best one yet Steve just invites you to get on and have a spin without any worries.

Reminds me of the bikes we had in our youth when we had no worries and finding enough money for fuel and beer was all that mattered.

Cheers

Top Job, Really Nice apart from the grips

I would,nt mind the exhaust on one of mine, its very period and a change from the usual Harris/kerkers.

Excellent job Steve well done!

Thanks for all your kind words boys, the whole thing started as a bit of a 'tongue in cheek' idea in the first place.

The grips will have to go, they're just too cheesy. They did come with the bike & I only put 'em back on to piss Piggy off. I have ordered some black foam grips to replace 'em.

The centre stand will also be put 'out to grass'.

Next project will be a Z900, Mono shocked with Radial USD forks, 17" wheels & lots of modern parts. :9 Just need to finish the current round of 'home improvements' before I can get stuck in. :|
