Not reported much on this recently...
Eventually got me tyres sorted. went for the Dunlop Arrowmax GT501 in the end.
I had Mikey re-polish & re-plate all my brake caliper parts, then re-assembled them with new pistons & seals.
This was two steps forward & one back. The pattern dust seal's did not have enough 'lip' to stay on, so Genuine one's have arrived from Z-Power & look far superior.
The other 'faux pas' was I managed to strip out one of the threads on the caliper hanger....
I was amazed at how cheap these thread repair kits were;

It arrived today along with some shorter inserts & looks good value. I'll report back as soon as I've tried it out.

I've found myself 'home alone' for two whole days!!
So after doing my Chrimbo Stella run to Asda & a trip to the Post office, the rest of the day was mine, to do with as I wished..
First job was to change the dust seals on my front calipers, then repair the stripped thread, that I had only myself to blame for.
Looking good now;
Also gotta report that the £7.00 thread repair kit worked a treat. I don't know how they can make this stuff so cheaply.
Next up was a bit of time sorting some of the electrics. At the beginning of this project, it was clear that the regulator was fooked, so I opted to fit this combined unit from Electrex.
Not quite a 'plug & play' part for the Zed, but it was easy enough to use the green plug & leads from a defunct rectifier, to connect it all up.
Also fitted new PMC battery cables, and a temporary set of clocks, engine now cranks over on 'the button'.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to machine some spacers for my new Dyna coils, fit them, then wire 'em up, along with the dyna ignition. Add a bit of petrol & she could be a runner.

Scroll right down to the bottom & you'll find a five piece kit that will cover most Zed threads.
Got the shorter inserts from here;

Spent most of today fitting my new Dyna coils. Normally a fairly straight forward job, however the previously fitted frame bracing made everything extremely tight. Got it all in there in the end though.
Bike started first prod.
Here's a quick vid. Sorry about the 'rattling', I left a load of tools on the bench.
http://youtu.be/wORbr_Ymjz8 Video should be live from about 11.15 tonight.
