Re-sizing images and video

#17 PostAuthor: Al » Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:00 am

When you first login to Photofuc*&t you get the 'UPLOAD IMAGES and VIDEO' window.
Just below the window is an advisory options list calling itself 'Reduce to'.

Click the down arrow on its right had side and then select the size you want to set for the pictures.

From memory its 640x480 for the Z1OC site and after selecting this size option it will resize your images in the master server.

ie. you cant resize upwardly an already selected (saved) small size picture.

Click on 'more options' adjacent to that advisory window for more options and select the size you want (640x480 etc) and then select save at the top just there. This will give you a default for all images and you dont have to keep resizing for each image.

If you want to upload video; select the 1 megabyte size file option. No need to upgrade unless you are an industrial size user. It costs to upgrade.

Put a little tick in the box to the bottom right of the photos and select delete from the options above that picture.
Picture will dissapear and then you can reload it with the re-sizing option in the size you wnat it to appear on this site.
Copy the location as before with the IMG code and post agin so we can see it full size.

Good luck.

Email or pm if you get stuck.

Re-sizing minatures

#23 PostAuthor: Al » Sun Jun 22, 2008 9:04 pm

Hi mikey i got the pictures thanks. I have scanned them for viruses and other issues. None were found. Good

Looking at the properties for the pictures they are in fact tiny as anything. They are not quite tiny enough for use as an avatar but they are miniture.
You will not be able to expand them up because the resolution of the pictures is too small.
Looks like your friend did you a big favour by sending them to you but not so much that he sent them in a usefull size. The resolution and DPI are low as you can go.

Suggest that you re-photo the bike and submit photos to myself or others to post for you until you get the existing issues with the pc fixed, upgraded or buy new.

Had a quick look at the shockwave flash player site and it suggest that you can use shockwave with windows 98 but i feel that; shockwave, windows 98 and firefox is a bit of a mishmash and 98 is the bit i would definately change given the chance or at least try to get the problem with the updates sorted out finally.
The link below should take you there to see for yourself but the bit i have copied below says it all.
http://www.shockwave.com/help/faq_flashplayer.jsp
There are other relevant questions on the site also and i would suggest that you get a good look through before you condemn your own abilities.

What they are basically suggesting below is to uninstall and reinstall the shockwave players but be careful you need to install the correct version for your set up.

When all is said and done i suspect that the photos that you are trying to post into photobucket are simply too small and of too low a resolution to be picked up and and/or read accurately. They are also in an unusual frame sixe which does not conform to the ratio parameters for standard images.

That would be my evaluation of the situation. This notwithstanding the obvious major issues that you have been having with the pc in other areas particularly of concern in this is the inability to contact the microsoft server and retrieve the microsoft updates which are essential to operations of this type and others which you have tried to perform unsuccessfully.

Something is far from ok with the MS server situation on your PC.

I really hope this helps but it does look like a mountain to climb.
just remember; if you dont get it sorted then you are depriving us all of some fantastic pictures and that simply wont do.

Might see you at RAF Wroughton on July 5th for some sprinting and drag racing. I let you know nearer the time.
