Re the front brake. Yes it works really well, it's a modern brake and great for a bike that's used regularly. I'm not sure how good the twin disc set up is but I might try it for originality.
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.

Nice bike. The front brake on yours works a treat I bet but looks a bit modern given that you've gone for a standard look. My 'b' has the twin disc conversion. My view is that it's standard given that it was an option you could have ordered when they were new. They are pretty good. I guess they are probably equivalent in power to your current set up.

Thanks Nosher, that's the sort of thing I wanted to hear. I had assumed they would be similar stopping power. You are right, I really want the std look but couldn't afford the twin disc conversion when I put that one on about ten years ago. I have all the parts now so I will do it at some point.
